Imagine a time when castle halls glowed with candlelight, the laughter of minstrels echoed through bustling village streets, and the spirit of Christmas was celebrated with feasting, fellowship, and timeless traditions. Step beyond the ordinary and into a world where history is no longer confined to the pages of a book—it surrounds you, invites you in, and comes alive before your eyes.
The Yuletide Medieval Festival was born from a dream shared by longtime medieval reenactor Dan “Beau” Bozarth. After years of portraying history and educating the public, he realized that Southern California had no holiday celebration dedicated to the rich traditions of the medieval Christmas season. Determined to change that, he founded Historic Event Productions in June 2023 with a vision to create an event where history, education, entertainment, and the wonder of the holidays could exist together.
That vision became reality with the inaugural Yuletide Medieval Festival in December 2024. Built around the world of England in the year 1420, the festival transports guests into the closing years of King Henry V’s reign. Visitors experience authentic living history through immersive encampments, historical demonstrations, thrilling tournaments, and dramatic reenactments, including the Battle of Meaux, the final military campaign of Henry V’s lifetime.
Yet history is only part of the adventure.
The Yuletide Medieval Festival also celebrates the enduring traditions and legends of the Christmas season. Meet St. Nicholas, Santa Claus, and beloved figures drawn from medieval history and European folklore. Wander through a bustling medieval marketplace, enjoy music, laughter, and hearty feasts, watch knights test their skill in tournament, and discover the stories that have shaped holiday celebrations for centuries.
None of this would be possible without the extraordinary volunteers, reenactors, performers, educators, artisans, and history enthusiasts whose passion transforms an ordinary park into a living medieval village. Their dedication creates an experience where families don’t simply watch history—they become part of it.
